Are You Beautiful?

Posted by admin on April 18, 2015

eyes.jpgThis goes out to all the women who have ever looked in the mirror and said "I wish I looked like her" or "why am I ugly?” Women need to look deep inside and find their inner beauty. Because beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if we don't find ourselves beautiful who will.

We as women feel the need to look like the women we see in the magazines. But do we see what they look like without all the makeup and lighting that help them to look like that. They’re beautiful just like you and I.  This video speaks for itself.

I don't think beauty is all about image. Beauty should be about how one acts and treats others no matter what. It shouldn't be about the latest fashion trends or who has the best shoes or what your hair looks like. Some of the nicest people I know are the people who have had to overcome things that women in this day and age are faced with on a daily basis.  These women truly are beautiful inside and out.

When we judge other woman, we as women should be ashamed of how we make them feel, but this is what society encourages us do. Nobody is perfect ladies.

I am sure we're all guilty of it. Picture this - your out in the mall and you see a woman who is a mess. She's not very well put together and looks like a train wreck and you think to yourself. "Oh my god, why would she leave the house like that? What is wrong with her? Does she not have any respect or self worth? But who are we to judge we don't know what she is going through. Maybe she had an abusive man who tells her daily that she is ugly. Maybe she was abused when she was younger. Who knows? We should unite as women and help out.

I found this video on Facebook that was created by dove. They put up two signs at an entranceway. One said beautiful and one said average. It was so sad to watch as most woman chose average. One woman wouldn't even go through the doors. It's not until you realize that you’re beautiful that you would walk through the beautiful door.

I personally spent many years feeling sad and ashamed because I didn't look like the girls in the magazines. It wasn't until I got older and realized that I was beautiful. That I cared about myself.

There are so many factors in this world that don't allow woman to feel good about themselves. Whether it be the magazines, television or that controlling man who tells you that you should look another way or that you're ugly. We all need to understand that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. This world would be boring if we all looked the same.  How we see ourselves is not what we look like.   This video brought tears to my eyes and clearly says it all.

So when you wake up tomorrow morning you're one task is to look in the mirror and tell yourself that “I am beautiful” and I love myself just the way I am.”

Here are a few videos that I enjoy when I'm feeling low.  I have also provided links above within the text where I found it most appropriate.
